I am not Adam, I am T-rex 😅😅😅
I am pretty confident that all parents have gone through or will go through this phase; "the make believe phase".
Adam is no different than any other kids in term of this. He is a FANATIC of dinasours. He memorizes all the names and of course manage to make mama do the same. He will show me all of his dinasour colections and repeat the name of each dinasours. And as for mama, I have to repeat after him or he will go on reciting the name until I repeat it. And the cycle goes on. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ "Mama this is a T-Rex, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Veloceraptor, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Brontosaurus, Diplodocus, Pterodactyl, Elasmosaurus, Itchyosaurus, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Oviraptor etc."
Then comes the time when he pretended to be the dinasour. When he wakes up in the morning, I will say "good morning Adam". He will look at me, body crouched, imitating how T-Rex walked and say "No mama, it's good morning T-Rex"☀️. When we are eating dinner I will call for him "Adam, come eat your nasi and ayam". He ignored me. Then I got the hint. He is currently not Adam. So I call him "T-Rex,come and eat your nasi ayam". Off he come opening his mouth asked to be fed.
This make believe does not just stop at being a dinasour. He also loves sea animals and snakes and dragons and insects. Sometimes he pretended to be an octopus and other times he is a shark or a whale. When he wakes up,he is a phyton but later while taking his bath he is a turtle and just as he stepped out of the bathroom he is now a dragon. 😂😂😂 It is a phase i am going to miss in just a few years time.
I read some parenting books and websites that stress on the importance of pretend play. It is said to be the drive for children's creativity and development skill. Plus it is fun for the kids. So hats off for awhile and join in the fun with your kids. It will be a time they will treasure when they grow older. Gosh! I just love this cheeky kid of mine. To the moon and back!
